MASSAR EGBARI IN LONDON (May 20, 2023):

Massar Egbari, the iconic rock band formed in 2005, has taken the Arabic music scene by storm with their music and thought-provoking lyrics, attracting new audiences wherever they perform. Their unique edge lies in their ability to blend progressive tunes with lyrics that address universal complex topics. This distinctive quality is rooted in their intriguing and diverse music, characters, and backgrounds.

TOOTARD IN LONDON (May 23, 2023):

TootArd (Arabic for Strawberries) is a “quarter-tone pop” band from the majestic mountainside village of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights. This inventive duo of brothers – Hasan and Rami Nakhleh – return with an infectious re-imagining of their sound. Jammed full of pop hooks and quarter-tone melodic lines, their album “Migrant Birds” unleashes a disco whirlwind that pays homage to the Middle Eastern dancefloor scenes of the 80’s. Join us at the Jazz Café as part of London’s Syrian Arts and Culture Festival for a night of retro funk meets hi-sheen contemporary.

HAMZA NAMIRA IN LONDON (June 17, 2023):

Hamza Namira, a prominent figure in the music scene of Egypt and the Middle East, has been dubbed as the "new Sayed Darwish." His music serves as a glowing testament to resilience and ambition and is a means of exploring and tackling prevalent social issues. By melding contemporary Egyptian pop, traditional folk, rock, and powerful ballads, Namira has amassed a following, selling out concerts in Alexandria, Cairo, and London, while also performing globally and throughout the Arab world. Accompanied by a skilled ensemble of some of the region's finest instrumentalists, Namira will showcase his original compositions, as well as songs from his popular TV program, "Remix," which has garnered significant success across the Arab world.

Tamer told me that had been interested in art ever since he can remember and, growing up, initially wanted to be a fashion designer.  In school, his drawings would be displayed and admired by students and faculty alike and he even had a private Facebook group where he drew memorable caricatures for selected friends who urged him to publish his work in different media. Despite the fact that he majored in Business at the University of Jordan, Tamer always participated in art workshops and became very interested in the digital medium. Here, he credits Professor Alia Nemeh Haddad for recogni
