Hoodies and Hijabs Rally for Trayvon Martin and Shaima Alawadi at Stanford on Tuesday April 17

Stanford students stood together wearing hoodies and hijabs on Tuesday April 17th's rally to protest the stereotypes and discrimination present in our society by focusing in on two recent cases. On February 26th, 2012, 17 year old Trayvon Martin was walking back from a convenience store to his father's home when he was shot and killed by a "community watchman", George Zimmerman. On March 21st, 32 year old Shaima Alawadi was found beaten in her El Cajon home with a note next to her saying, "Go back to your country, you terrorist." Shaima passed away three days later.
